As the term of social innovations is new in Croatia we are glad to inform you about the new social innovations that address the needs and problems of the current situations caused by the COVID – 19 virus.

A doctor from Pula developed a web service „pregledajme.com“ (examineme.com) - a symptom checking service in the Croatian language, based on artificial intelligence, currently covering about 700 common conditions and diagnoses, over 1250 different symptoms, can be accessed by computer or smartphone, from 0-24. Fast, free and easy. Medical institutions and hospitals in Croatia may soon become overwhelmed by new COVID-19 outbreaks so this solution can help reduce the burden on the health care system! They also present an online COVID-19 risk assessment tool based on official guidelines established by WHO and ECDC. A developer from Pula developed an algorithm for detecting coronavirus-induced lung inflammation from a simple lung RDG image. The accuracy is over 93% and it can be even greater if there were more examples of images from which the algorithm can „learn“. They are ready to offer this solution to anyone who wants it for free.

The Bamboo Lab from Osijek has launched an „oredr2GO“ platform that aims to help advertise to smaller local food producers who need us most at this time. The platform serves as a kind of online advertisement that promotes and supports domestic producers who are in a disadvantaged situation.

The Croatian Psychological Chamber, in cooperation with the Croatian Psychological Society and the County Societies of Psychologists, has launched a telephone counseling network. Particular attention is paid to those whose adaptive capacities are insufficient or already depleted: to people in self-isolation, children, chronic patients, elderly people who are more difficult to adapt to isolation, contact and movement restriction, and to young people who may also show unrealistic optimism in this situation.

Except for that, we are glad to inform you that the social enterprise „PUNKT“ from Pula is nominated for the „SozialMarie“ award - the oldest award for social innovations, which is given to the best projects in Central Europe.
