Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković ”in Pula successfully conducted the first“ Community case study ”program.

The Community case study program method was developed by the Foundation through the + Resilient project, with the aim of introducing students to the nonprofit sector, encouraging students to get involved in associations, and sensitizing students about the difficulties and problems that vulnerable groups have. But also in parallel with this process, associations have been given creative new ideas to solve the problems they face.

In the context of socially useful learning, it is very important to connect students and civil society organizations and point out to students the opportunities that exist, not only for social action or activation in the community through the civil sector but also for employment or self-employment in the sector.

Helga Možé, Foundation Manager

The implementation of the program lasted two months, 36 students through 6 teams worked on finding solutions to the problems that the associations presented in the first class. For example, poor visibility in society, especially among young people, poor awareness of young women about the problem of breast cancer, lack of young volunteers, ignorance of the needs of the local community and the like.

6 very interesting and high-quality solutions were presented, which the associations themselves can initiate and implement, and which we will certainly have the opportunity to see in the next year. Namely, the associations that participated in the program are associations from the area of Pula: Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Istria County, Association of Youth Sandy Bay "Peškafondo", Club of Women Treated for Breast Cancer Gea and Volunteer Center Istra and their feedback are praise and thanks. satisfaction with this program.

New cooperation program between the Foundation and the Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković “, Community case study held as part of the course Corporate Social Responsibility led by Assoc. Kristina Afrić Rakitovac, showed excellent results. Namely, the feedback of all participants confirms that such a program is needed and it should be held regularly every year, said Professor Afrić Rakitovac.

The project "+ Resilient" is funded by the Interreg Mediterranean 2014-2020 program from the European Regional Development Fund and co-financed by the Office for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
